About Me
My name is Adira Campos Freigeist, and I am a licensed clinical social worker in Oregon. After years of being self-employed and subsequently working in an elementary school setting, I made the decision to get an advanced degree, turning my passion for psychology into a fulfilling career. The drive to work in mental health was partially cultivated through work with my own therapist and enjoyment supporting autistic children.
As a life-long learner, attending classes felt exciting, helped me to grow my critical thinking skills and fostered a love of psychology and social work in more ways than I imagined. As a student, I double majored and earned Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Social Work, followed by a Master’s in Social Work from Portland State University School of Social Work.
My Bachelor’s level training took place at Tualatin High School, as a future coach with students at risk of not graduating, working with them to create plans for their future and fulfilling graduation requirements. Working alongside high school students was immensely rewarding and I am grateful to have had that opportunity.
My Master’s level training was completed at Portland VA Medical Center in the Mental Health Clinic working with individuals in the opioid treatment program utilizing a whole health focus and providing individual therapy in the BHIP Clinic. Supporting the Veteran population helped me grow as a student and expand my skillset across a diverse population of those who served.
As a license clinical social worker, I have experience working in outpatient mental health with Veterans, with a specific focus on supporting neurodivergent adults individually and in a group setting. I work in private practice part-time, providing individual psychotherapy services to adults across the lifespan.
